These are two photographs taken by the two masters of photography. Same subject, similar technique and identical result.

The black & white photograph is by Sebastiao Salgado and the colour photograph is by Raghu Rai

There seems to be some confusion about the dates. Both the photographers clicked the black & white version in 1995. In these two black and white versions the subject and treatment ( long exposure,slow shutter speed) is similar but the point of view is totally different. Raghu Rai’s photograph has been taken at a lower vantage point as against Salgado’s higher view point.


The colour version was clicked by Raghu Rai in 2004 which has been taken from a height similar to Salgado’s photograph.
